Where to find First Druid Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3

Where to find First Druid Halsin in Baldur's Gate 3 1280x720

If you’re having trouble locating Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3, rest assured, you’re not the only one. Once you meet the Tieflings in the Emerald Grove, you’ll be tasked with locating the First Druid, who’s been taken to the Goblin Camp

The challenge is that the marker pointing to his whereabouts is quite ambiguous, and chances are you’ve passed his location multiple times without realizing it. In this guide,

I’ll pinpoint Halsin’s exact location for you and, crucially, guide you on how to recruit him to your motley crew.

Where to find the Goblin Camp

When you arrive at the Goblin Camp, located near the windmill where you liberated Barcus Wroot in the Blighted Village, look for a pair of imposing doors leading to the Shattered Sanctum

  • HINT: There’s a large fellow yelling at a chicken right in front of these doors.

As a Drow, you can effortlessly stroll through the camp and into the sanctum. However, characters of other races might face more challenges.

If you’ve previously rescued Sazza the goblin from the grove, it will be advantageous. So, for those not playing as a Drow, this is an option worth considering

Where to find Halsin

Navigate through the Shattered Sanctum until you encounter the priestess. From there, turn right and keep an eye out for a somewhat unstable wooden bridge veering to the right. Traverse the bridge, and you’ll spot three goblins, a rat, and a door in front of you.

Proceed through this door to enter the Worg Pens.

Inside the room, if you possess the capability, cast the Speak with Animals spell.

As you step further into the space, you’ll notice a bear to your right, accompanied by some goblins. If you’re able to communicate with creatures, the bear will plead, “Stop them. Free me.

That bear is none other than Halsin.

To liberate the bear, you can opt for Illithid or Wisdom dialogue choices.

Alternatively, you can either encourage the goblins to continue their torment or confront them.

Upon freeing him, you’re presented with three choices:

  1. Assault the goblins.
  2. Confront the bear.
  3. Abandon the bear to the whims of the goblins.

In my playthrough, aligning with the Tieflings and Halsin , I chose to take on the goblins.

After the skirmish concludes, he’ll revert to his original form as Halsin and discuss how the tadpoles in your brain have been modified by cultists residing in Moonrise Towers

You have the option to enlist him in your group to counter Minthara, the Drow chieftain of the goblins, as well as the hobgoblin Dror Ragzlin and the priestess, Gut.

However, he does hint at a fierce battle ahead, suggesting you’ll have to confront all the goblins.

Ultimately, after locating him, the choice is yours: either defend the Emerald Grove and Halsin or ally with the Drow leader in her quest for the Absolute.

Should you choose to safeguard the grove, Halsin will later show up at your camp, making him available for recruitment.
