Just for clarification, here is a quick explanation of the six Ability Scores:

    • Strength: Determines the character’s physical power, allowing them to perform feats like lifting heavy objects, breaking down doors, or dealing damage with melee weapons.
    • Dexterity: Reflects agility, reflexes, and balance which is crucial for actions like dodging attacks, moving stealthily, or hitting with ranged weapons.
    • Constitution: Represents the character’s health and stamina. A high Constitution increases hit points (HP), making characters more resilient to damage.
    • Intelligence: Reflects how well a character can learn and reason, which is essential for wizards who cast spells based on knowledge.
    • Wisdom: Indicates intuition and perceptiveness. It’s crucial for classes like clerics and druids, influencing their ability to cast certain spells and perceive the environment.
    • Charisma: Represents force of personality, persuasiveness, and leadership. It’s essential for classes like bards and sorcerers, affecting their spellcasting ability and interactions with others.

I’ve done this fight a few times now and one cool thing I discovered was that if you hit Auntie Ethel with an ability that last “x” turns, it will continue to be an effect on the real her, even after she clones.

For example, Guiding Bolt says that “The next Attack Roll on this target has Advantage” – lasting 2 turns.

So if you hit Ethel with Guiding Bolt just before she clones you will still see the debuff on the real version of her.

    Love BG3 😀

I bought the cub from the goblins for 500 gold. It was a steep price for Act 1, but having the cub at the camp interacting with everyone is just priceless. hehe!

There is also the Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything Variant, where you can mix things up when your character’s racial ability score increases. This adds some spice to character creation.

For instance, if you’re going with a Tiefling, who typically gets a +2 boost to Charisma and +1 to Intelligence, you could opt to put those bonuses into Dexterity and Constitution instead. This way, you’d be crafting a character who’s more agile and robust, which can be a fun twist on the usual Tiefling traits.

If you are basing it off the RAW 27 Ability Point allocation system which says that that each increase up to 13 costs one point, and an increase to 14/15 costs 2 points then your Ability Scores would optimally look as follows:

    • Dexterity: 15 (9 points: 1 for each score from 8 to 13, then 4 points for each score from 13 to 15)

    • Wisdom: 14 (7 points: 1 for each score from 8 to 13, then 2 points for the score of 14)

    • Constitution: 13 (5 points: 1 for each score from 8 to 13)

    • Strength: 12 (4 points: 1 for each score from 8 to 13)

    • Intelligence: 10 (2 points: 1 for each score from 8 to 13)

    • Charisma: 8 (costs 0 points)

    In total 9+7+5+4+2+0 = 27

If you choose an Elf or Halfling, (which both have a +2 racial bonus to Dexterity), your Dexterity score would increase to 17, giving you a +3 Ability Modifier.
